How we trade · settlement

Payment structures, instrument by trade.

Payment is separate from delivery terms and from title. It follows the instrument agreed in the contract. These are the structures the desk works with. Every payment structure is subject to transaction and counterparty approval, stated plainly at quotation.

The instruments · 01

Five structures we settle on.

Which one fits depends on the buyer's bank relationship, the ticket size and how fast the trade needs to move. The document chain, invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading, inspection record, is the same under every instrument.

STRUCTURE 01
TT advance & balance

A telegraphic-transfer structure: an agreed advance on contract confirmation, balance against presentation of the shipping documents. No bank issuance and no lead time, the contract is the setup. The split is agreed per transaction.

STRUCTURE 02
Sight Letter of Credit

The buyer's bank issues an LC payable at sight against conforming documents, governed by ICC UCP 600. The bank's undertaking replaces the deposit wire. A confirmed variant adds a second bank where country or bank risk calls for it. Bank charges follow the issuing bank's schedule, confirmed at quotation.

STRUCTURE 03
Usance Letter of Credit

Same LC mechanics, deferred settlement: the buyer's bank pays at an agreed tenor after document presentation, so the buyer settles after the cargo has landed and started moving. The tenor is fixed in the contract, per transaction.

STRUCTURE 04 · 05
D/P collection · credit-supported terms

Documents against payment, the buyer pays through the banking channel to receive the shipping documents, is available subject to approval. Credit-supported terms run through independent partners who underwrite the buyer directly and contract with the buyer on their own term sheet; Torix is not a party to that contract and is not a lender. Both structures are subject to transaction and counterparty approval.

D/PBank collection · subject to approval
Credit termsIndependent underwriting
Terms set byThe lender, not Torix
Plainly stated · Torix is not a regulated lender, broker or financial adviser. On credit-supported structures, the financier underwrites independently, prices independently and contracts directly with the buyer, the terms come from the lender, not Torix. Every payment structure on this page is subject to transaction and counterparty approval, and the applicable structure for any trade is stated in the quotation.
Structure the settlement

Tell us your preference. We structure around it.

State the preferred instrument in your RFQ, TT structure, Sight or Usance LC, or a credit-supported route, and the quotation returns with the settlement structure alongside the supply.
